Taicang Museum, established in 1987, is a comprehensive museum reflecting the history of Taicang. With the area of 2,500 square meters，it is a city-level museum built up initiatively in Jiangsu Province. Its collection including various kinds such as ceramics, bronze ware, calligraphy and painting, jade carving, coin and so on. Taicang Museum has developed activities on cultural relic preservation and propaganda education positively, strengthening the research on its collection, the local history and the marine transportation history. The basic exhibitions are Taicang historical relic exhibition, Taicang history celebrity exhibition, Fushe memorial hall, Loudong painting display and so on, in addition, various kinds of temporary displays held there non-periodically. It was named successively as the Suzhou patriotic education base, the Taicang city patriotic education base and the Taicang city defense education base. |
