Huai'an Museum, built up in March, 1959, is a comprehensive history museum which is the center of collection, display and archaeology research in the whole city. Covering the land of seven Chinese acres and the construct area of 5,000 square meters, it is located in Jiankang West Road of Huai’an in Jiangsu Province. Completed in October, 1997, the classical but also modernized construction opened to the public.
The first floor is convention center. Some typical cultural relics as portrait stone, stele carving and stone carving displayed in the courtyard. Temporary displays of calligraphy and painting, cultural relics and other kinds of relics are usually show in the second floor. The third floor is for culture relics displays, including “Huai’an history culture relics display” and “Huai’an treasure”. With glorious history and wealthy talent, Huai’an is the city which the archaeological finds are extremely rich. The museum owns various kinds of collections as pottery ware, jade ware, bronze ware, coin, calligraphy and painting, among which, 700 pieces including 130 pieces treasures are show to the audience now. The fourth is mainly for calligraphy and painting exhibitions.
Huai’an museum is the "Patriotic Education Base", "Science Education Base", "Law Education Base" of Huai ’an, and also the important spiritual civilization construction important window of the city. It is indeed the artistic palace for guests at home and abroad.
