The Museum of History of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom lies in the west of Nanjing Confucius Temple, is the only national museum of particular history subject on the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. The garden is a group of remaining buildings of classical garden of Ming Dynasty, cover an area of 18,000 square meters, with a construction area of 6000 square meters.

　　The Museum of History of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom is a museum with the largest number of cultural relics of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and richest historical materials in China. At present, it has collected more than 2,800 cultural relics of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and more than 10,000 pictures of various relics, sites and remains. The exposition of the history of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom sponsored by the museum was listed as one of the top ten expositions across China in 2000.

　　The museum hold " the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom history display " throughout the year , reproducing the massive peasant sport 150 years ago systematacially in the round, which be one of the ten major fine exhibitions in the whole country of 2000. The museum also runs temporary exhibitions with various information and abundant content regularly and made the good social response. As the Patriotism Education Base , it has also established the relation with such units as Nanjing University , Southeast China University , Public Security Collage in Jiangsu Province ,etc., playing the social education function of the museum fully.
